How Background Removal Works
This tool runs the U²-Net salient-object model on ONNX Runtime Web, compiled to WebAssembly and running entirely in your browser. The model produces a soft alpha matte — not a hard cut — so semi-transparent detail like hair and fur is preserved. Pick a quality level, paint over any edges that need a touch-up with the Restore/Erase brush, choose a transparent or solid-colour background, then export a PNG or WebP (both keep transparency) or copy the result straight to your clipboard. The AI model downloads once (about 4 MB) and is then cached for offline use — your image is never sent anywhere.

Servergebaseerde converters uploaden je bestand, verwerken het op afstand en sturen het terug, waarbij bij elke aanvraag netwerk- en datacenterenergie wordt verbruikt. WebConverter draait volledig op je apparaat, dus de enige energie die wordt gebruikt is je lokale CPU. Geen dataoverdracht, geen serverstroom.
Installeren voor offline gebruik
WebConverter werkt offline als Progressive Web App. Klik op "Toevoegen aan startscherm" op mobiel of op de installatieknop in de adresbalk van je browser. Eenmaal geïnstalleerd kun je bestanden converteren zonder internetverbinding.
