When Convertio is the better pick
WebConverter does not cover every job. Use a service built for it when:
- You need an API to convert files from your own code. WebConverter has none.
- You convert PDF to Word or camera RAW files such as CR2. WebConverter does not support these formats.
- Your format is not on our list of supported conversions. All Conversions
Batch and folder mode
- Open a converter and drop in as many files as you have, or pick a whole folder (Chrome and Edge on desktop).
- Choose the output format. Image batches convert up to four files at a time.
- Convert. In folder mode the results save straight back to the same folder or another one. In other browsers you download them.
Install it for next time
Open WebConverter once, then use your browser's install option (on iPhone: Share, then Add to Home Screen). The installed app opens from your desktop or home screen and keeps converting without a connection.
What happens to your file
WebConverter never receives your file. The conversion runs in your browser tab and the result saves to your device.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a file size limit?
WebConverter sets no size cap. Your device's memory is the limit, so a large file may fail on an older phone where a laptop succeeds.
Do I need an account or an email address?
No. Open a converter, drop your file and download the result. There is nothing to sign up for.
How long do you keep my file?
WebConverter never receives your file, so there is nothing to keep. It stays on your device.
Does it work offline?
Yes, after you open it once. Install the app from your browser and it keeps converting without a connection.
